170 native plants in the ground at Haycocks Bush Riverside planting bee

170 native plants in the ground on Sunday in the gaps between the taller trees of Haycocks Bush on the Motueka River West Bank. All guarded, staked and mulched. The video shows site 1 of 7 planting sites. Well done team! Thank you in particular to Bruce Stare and Annette Litherland for organising this work and to our fabulous volunteers.

And Haycocks Bush itself is looking pretty much clear of Old Mans Beard which a few years back was choking this bush corridor. What an achievement – a joint effort of community volunteers over multiple working bees and contractor work by Andy Wards Ecology.

There will be another OMB working bee in October so watch out for that event.
