Here’s TDC’s website link –  https://www.tasman.govt.nz/my-council/about-us/media-centre/news-and-notices/tasmans-rivercare-meetings-return-for-2024/ :  \nTasman District Council is restarting its annual Rivercare meetings throughout the District.   \nAll interested members of the public are invited to attend their local meeting to hear information about river works in the past year\, discuss river management issues in your area\, and help plan for work to be done in 2025.   \nTopics will include flood protection\, erosion control\, and maintenance of the riparian margin which may be significant to the area you live.   \nIf you are planning to attend one of these meetings and have a specific question or topic you would like discussed\, please send an email to rivercare@tasman.govt.nz noting the question and issue of interest and the meeting you plan to attend.

DESCRIPTION:Community nurseries in Motueka and Moutere catchments have been growing first colonising native seedlings for potting up and growing on for their catchment groups.\nThis is the time of year some of the community nurseries need a little help to finish potting up seedlings to fill their nurseries. \nAt this event you will pot up seedlings into root trainers with students and parents to fill the nursery and these plants will be planted out by students in the Moutere catchment when they’re big enough. Morning tea provided. \nPlease bring empty root trainers if you have them. \nPlease note that there are two time slots – 9.30 – 11am and 11.30 – 1pm. \nRegistrations are required. DESCRIPTION:Community nurseries in the Motueka and Moutere catchments have been growing first colonising native seedlings for potting up / pricking out and growing on for their catchment groups.\nThis is the time of year some of the community nurseries need a little help to finish potting up seedlings to fill their nurseries\, or have some excess seedlings they are able to give away.\n\n\n\n\nAt this event next Monday 9th December bewteen 9.30am and 11am\, you’ll learn how to grow your own native plants\, pot up / prick out plants into root trainers to take home to grow on. Please bring empty root trainers if you have them. There is a limit of 20 people. DESCRIPTION:Community nurseries in the Motueka and Moutere catchments have been growing first colonising native seedlings for potting up and growing on for their catchment groups.\nThis is the time of year some of the community nurseries need a little help to finish potting up seedlings to fill their nurseries. \nAt this event you will help add to the plants already potted up by students and these will be planted out by students on landowners properties once they’re big enough. \nPlease note there may be some 1 – 5cm seedlings leftover that we can give away before Christmas for people to take home\, pot up themselves using their own containers and potting mix.
