DESCRIPTION:For anyone starting a forest restoration project or already underway. Join us for a practical session to understand how a native forest develops over time and what supports long‑term success. \nHear from restoration specialist Wayne O’Keefe as we walk through a mature forest remnant and newer plantings with kaitiaki of Lancewood Villa\, Fiona and Alastair. We’ll explore: \n\nwhat success looks like in native forest restoration\nhow ecological succession works and factors shaping forest development\nthe role of shade in restoration plantings\nwhen intervention may be needed\, including creating lightwells and choosing appropriate species\n\nRegister here or QR code: surveymonkey.com/r/Z23CJ5X

SUMMARY:Whenua Iti native plant potting up event
DESCRIPTION:Community nurseries in the Motueka and Moutere catchments have been growing first colonising native seedlings for potting up and growing on for their catchment groups.\nThis is the time of year some of the community nurseries need a little help to finish potting up seedlings to fill their nurseries. \nAt this event you will help add to the plants already potted up by students and these will be planted out by students on landowners properties once they’re big enough. \nPlease note there may be some 1 – 5cm seedlings leftover that we can give away before Christmas for people to take home\, pot up themselves using their own containers and potting mix. There is an opportunity to register an interest in that as well in below survey. \nTo register for these events – \nhttps://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RLKTMVK
