Do you have areas of your land that are prone to erosion? Would you like to discuss and learn practical techniques and methods to reduce soil loss from your farm, lifestyle property, or forestry block?
Motueka Catchment Collective would like to invite you to this event aimed at helping answer key questions landowners have about ensuring effective control of sediment on their rural property. We have a line-up of excellent speakers who will talk you through some of these key questions, giving great examples and case studies to help make their advice as practical as possible.
Questions that will be addressed are:
- Why is sediment control important in the Motueka catchment?
- What are some key research findings that have emerged regarding sediment in the Motueka Catchment?
- What are the current regulations regarding sediment and what tools are available to the community to manage sediment issues?
- How is forestry addressing sediment concerns and what are the most commonly used mitigation practices?
- How is the agricultural sector addressing sediment issues and what are the most common and effective mitigation practices?
