The Motueka OMB Group, led by Bruce Stare, who is also a member of the Pest Management group of MCC, are holding an OMB weeding event in a significant piece of QEII covenanted bush on private land on Saturday July 27th. Bruce is still finalising details for the event, including the time. Watch this space for an update and more details!
It would be great to have a good number of people from the community along to this event. Managing OMB in native bush areas is priority for MCC, and is a real challenge in the catchment. If we focus our efforts on tackling OMB in significant native bush areas the task doesn’t seem so huge. It will also greatly help the trees and habitats in these areas if they’re not infested with OMB.
