Join us for a collaborative hui exploring the Motueka River system—iwi connections, historical protection and management, current dynamics and health, and the resilience we need for the future. We’ll share insights on recent flood events, river behaviour, and begin the conversation around solutions for climate change and future flood resilience.

This event brings together iwi, scientists, engineers, and community voices to deepen understanding and strengthen our collective response to flooding, ecosystem health, and community wellbeing.


🕘 Session Highlights

🔹 Iwi perspectives on the Motueka River, catchment management, and the Water Conservation Order
🔹 River morphology, sediment, flood facts, and freshwater ecology
🔹 Resilience planning—wetlands, flood response, and community-led adaptation
