Biodiversity and Restoration Group invites project applications
The Biodiversity and Restoration Thematic Group of MCC invites residents and landowners in the Motueka Catchment to apply for projects that aim to improve biodiversity and seek to restore areas in the Motueka Catchment. These projects can be for a wide range of projects including planting, encouraging birds, seed collecting, wetland enhancement etc. You can seek support for things like plants, equipment, and other resources to help you undertake the project.
Examples of recently completed projects that were awarded funding and support include:
- Funding for trees and guards for a riparian planting project for a community group
- Community support and help organising a community planting day for a riparian planting project
- Support for a number of wetland restoration projects on private properties
- Īnanga spawning project
For this round, the BAR group would like to receive applications by the end of February 2025.
For any questions, and/or to obtain an application form, please email the Chair of the BAR Group, Kate Radloff on biodiversity@motuekacatchment.org.nz
