Apply to the Biodiversity and Restoration Group for your project
The Biodiversity and Restoration Thematic Group (BAR group) of MCC invites residents and landowners in the Motueka Catchment to apply for projects that aim to improve biodiversity and seek to restore areas in the Motueka Catchment.
You might be planning a project that will require planting this planting season, be seeking to encourage birds, be wanting to get into seed collecting, or have a wetland you’d like to enhance. You can seek support for things like plants, equipment, and other resources to help you undertake the project through the BAR group.
Examples of recently completed projects that were awarded funding and support include:
- Funding for trees and guards for a riparian planting project for a community group
- Community support and help organising a community planting day for a riparian planting project
- Support for a number of wetland restoration projects on private properties
- Īnanga spawning project
You need to get your applications in by the end of February 2025.
For any questions, and/or to obtain an application form, please email the Chair of the BAR Group, Kate Radloff on biodiversity@motuekacatchment.org.nz
