MCC receives new funding
Motueka Catchment Collective has to date been supported by a three year funding contract between 2022 – 2025 from the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) to extend the reach and support and build the capacity of the catchment community. This funding came to a close at the end of September.
Thankfully, MCC has been awarded continued funding from the Ministry for the Environment, with continued support from MPI.
This will allow MCC to continue telling stories about the great work happening in the catchment community by landowners and groups, and to continue supporting the MCC Steering Group and Thematic Groups, and to run some events.
In addition, the Kōtahitanga mō te Taiao Alliance (KMTTA), through The Nature Conservancy, has provided some additional funding for MCC to continue finalising the Motueka Catchment Plan which is in draft form. This will allow MCC to consult with the community and key stakeholders to make sure the plan is realistic and fit for purpose and reflects the aspirations of the community.
If you would like to know more about the MCC, or if you wish to get involved in MCC’s work, please contact Lucy Maxwell on support@motuekacatchment.org.nz.
