Sunday, 27 July, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Motueka Valley OMB Group helps control OMB in this significant QEII covenant every year – one of the largest areas of lowland remnant native bush in Te Tau Ihu.

This time, the group is partnering with the Motueka Catchment Collective to run a larger community working bee in this area of bush.

The working bee will likely include:

  • controlling new OMB seedlings
  • cutting some larger, older Old Mans Beard vines
  • controlling/squashing down areas of blackberry
  • helping to set up a new trapline to add to the existing traps

We would like to invite all members of the community to come along and help look after this significant and beautiful area of native bush in Stanley Brook. It has many birds living in it, rare plants, and is really quite special. You might even be given a guided tour!

The owner of the land will provide food and drink to all of those who come along.
